THE BOARD OF RECTORS OF UNIVERSITY OF PHAN THIET WELCOMED THE DELEGATION OF BELGIAN EXPERTS

On the afternoon of February 9, 2023, University of Phan Thiet was honored to welcome a delegation of experts from the University of Liège (Belgium) to visit and work at the university.

This visit of experts from the University of Liège at University of Phan Thiet is part of a series of activities aimed at implementing the Vietnam-Belgium International Collaboration Project 6.2 “Establishing a sustainable production chain of swiftlet farming (aerodramus fuciphagus) in Binh Thuan province (Vietnam): assessing new supplementary feed sources related to the nutritional quality of post-harvest bird’s nests”. This project is jointly implemented by University of Phan Thiet and University of Liège (Belgium). This is one of 27 projects within the framework of the collaboration program between the two Governments of Vietnam and Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium) in the period 2022-2024. Project 6.2 was approved in Official Dispatch No. 238/BKHĐT-KTDN dated January 12, 2022 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Official Dispatch No. 261/BGDDT-HTQT dated January 24, 2022 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

On the side of University of Phan Thiet, there were the attendance of the University Council, Board of Rectors, and Heads and Deputy Heads of relevant Departments.

On the side of the delegation of experts from the University of Liège, there were Prof. Eric Haubruge – Advisor to the Rector in charge of Innovation and Regional Development; Assoc. Prof. Rudy Caparros Megido – Specialist in the Department of Functional and Evolutionary Entomology, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech University.

During the meeting, on behalf of University of Phan Thiet, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Khac Thuong – Chairman of University Council – President, sent respectful greetings to the Belgian experts and hoped that the two universities would work closely to successfully implement Project 6.2, thereby continuing to expand many other cooperation activities in the future.

On behalf of Belgian experts, Prof. Eric Haubruge thanked University of Phan Thiet for the warm and thoughtful welcome. The professor also hoped that the project would be a premise to contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture in Binh Thuan province.
