WORKING WITH A DELEGATION OF BELGIAN EXPERTS TO IMPLEMENT THE VIETNAM – BELGIUM PROJECT 6.2 “ESTABLISHING A SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION CHAIN OF SWIFTLET FARMING (AERODRAMUS FUCIPHAGUS) IN BINH THUAN PROVINCE: ASSESSING NEW SUPPLEMENTARY FEED SOURCES RELATED TO THE NUTRITIONAL QUALITY OF POST-HARVEST BIRD’S NESTS”

On the morning of February 9, 2023, University of Phan Thiet welcomed a delegation of experts from University of Liège (Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, Kingdom of Belgium) along with the representatives of Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Department of Science and Technology of Binh Thuan province, and national experts to work and discuss at the university.

This visit of experts from University of Liège at University of Phan Thiet is part of a series of activities to implement the International Collaboration Project “Establishing a sustainable production chain of swiftlet farming (aerodramus fuciphagus) in Binh Thuan province: assessing new supplementary feed sources related to the nutritional quality of post-harvest bird’s nests” (Project 6.2). This project is jointly implemented by University of Phan Thiet and TERRA Research Center of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech University, University of Liège (Belgium). This is one of 27 projects within the framework of the collaboration program between the two Governments of Vietnam and Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium) in the period 2022-2024. Project 6.2 was approved in Official Dispatch No. 238/BKHĐT-KTDN dated January 12, 2022 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Official Dispatch No. 261/BGDDT-HTQT dated January 24, 2022 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

At the meeting, representatives of the University of Phan Thiet, Belgian experts, and representatives of Departments introduced the main contents of Project 6.2 and discussed ideas on sustainable agricultural development in Binh Thuan province.
